  I bought a blog theme online and was given a load of files in return and now I am wondering how I upload this theme unto my blog page

  Hello,

  If you bought a third party theme, your only option is to move your WordPress.com blog to a web host that allows editing and uploading of completely custom themes, using the WordPress.org software. Here are some recommended hosting options: https://get.wp.com/hosting/
