Hi
I’m trying to have a blog feed apply to only one page (library), and have “leave a comment'” deleted from the sub-header and ‘Leave a reply’ removed from the footer on all pages. Tried the CSS edit function but can’t save changes???
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The “Library” page is currently set as a page, not a post. Only posts are included in your feed. So, updating the “Library” page would not update any feeds since pages aren’t included in your feed here:
I would suggest instead setting a category as “Library” and then using category pages:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
Then, you could have a feed like this:
http://fsg.nz/category/category-slug/feed/
have “leave a comment'” deleted from the sub-header
Did you still want comments to be enabled on that Library page? Also, I have a feeling this might change based on the notes above.
‘Leave a reply’ removed from the footer on all pages.
Similar question here – did you still want comments to be enabled on pages? If not, you can disable them as described here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments
That will remove the “Leave a reply” section.

You should be able to save CSS. I just tried, and it appears to be working correctly on my side. Can you give this another try?

Hi Jeremey,
Just got back.
Maybe I’m using the wrong terminology, so please bear with me.
I’ve removed the posts from the Home page, but there’s still a Search and Archives widget. Ideally, I’d like the sidebar widget on the Home page removed altogether, the “leave a comment” deleted from all pages; the library page with a sidebar widget that receives posts from http://www.dcwhyte.com, and the ‘Leave a reply” footer and boxes removed from all pages.
Does that make sense? -

HI Jeremey,
I’ve tried setting the Library page as a category but I find the following;
1. there is nothing in the Categories field in the Menu area other than “Uncategorised”. I can change the name to ‘Library’ in the Menu but not in the Categories field.
2. The published view of the Library as a Category does not contain any of the images/text/links.
3. I’ve published all as pages meantime until I can get some help!I can’t get the deleted code in CSS to stay deleted – specifically I would like to have my posts from dcwhyte.com featured on the Library page only with the right hand widget deleted completely on all other pages.
Also I would like the footer “leave a reply” removed from all pages, and the ‘leave a comment’ removed from the sub-header.
Can you please assist?David

Hey David!
Please see below:
there is nothing in the Categories field in the Menu area other than “Uncategorised”. I can change the name to ‘Library’ in the Menu but not in the Categories field.
Currently, there is only one category on your blog (Uncategorized). You will need to add the new Library category here:
https://fsgnz.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category
Specific instructions can be found here:
The published view of the Library as a Category does not contain any of the images/text/links.
I’m not sure what you mean by published view of the Library. Currently, there isn’t a category titled “Library” on your site. For this to work correctly, we’ll need to 1) create a category 2) create posts assigned to that category. Then, posts assigned to the “Library” category would appear like this:
http://nuntiusdemo.wordpress.com/category/news/science/
I can’t get the deleted code in CSS to stay deleted – specifically I would like to have my posts from dcwhyte.com featured on the Library page only with the right hand widget deleted completely on all other pages.
Hmm…I’m not seeing any customized CSS entered under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS. The issue here is that the Nuntius theme doesn’t offer a full-width page. Even if there aren’t any widgets in the sidebar area, the sidebar still displays.
We could get rid of this with CSS, but honestly, the easier method would be to switch to a theme that does offer a full-width option like those listed here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/full-width-template/
That way, we don’t have to hack CSS to get the look we want. Any of those catch your eye?
Also I would like the footer “leave a reply” removed from all pages, and the ‘leave a comment’ removed from the sub-header.
The easiest way to do that would be to disable comments across your entire site. Instructions on how to do that can be found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments

Thanks for this.
I agree that the easiest solution – particularly with regard to the full-width requirement – is to switch to another theme.
The Business Identity Theme seems to have the attributes I need.
Before I blow my $150, are you able to confirm that I can have a Library page which displays posts from dcwhyte.com, and which don’t appear on the other pages, that the other pages have no ‘leave a reply’ or similar?

Hey David,

Yep! I think I misunderstood what you were looking for at first (I apologize). If you would just like to display posts that are posted to dcwhyte.com, you can use the RSS Shortcode shown here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/rss-shortcode/
That way, the posts will only appear on the page that has the shortcode added.
that the other pages have no ‘leave a reply’ or similar?
Yep! You can just disable comments on each page using the instructions here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments
That will remove the “Leave a reply” text.

Hi Jeremey,
Thanks heaps for all your patience, guidance, and assistance. And definitely no need to apologise – I fumble and bumble around with this stuff, so your input was absolutely invaluable.
I decided that you were right re the website theme, and the Business Identity theme looks pretty good so far – http://www.fsg.nz – still needs some work but at l least it’s content rather than structure , so far!
Thanks again for all your help and I wish you and yours a great Christmas and a prosperous 2015.David
