Customising pages appearance to alter sidebars
-
Does anyone remember seeing somewhere on the dashboard the option to customize the appearance of pages so that some might appear without the sidebar(s)? For the life of me I can’t seem to find it again. I could have sworn I came upon it once or twice. Tip(s) to find greatly appreciated.

I think it’s theme dependent. As in some themes have pages w/o sidebars and others have pages w/ sidebars.

Sandbox has multiple sidebar options, but that’s the only theme I am aware of that does, and it only does because it’s for you to load your own CSS onto.

Just an addendum that I finally found what I was looking for: its the page template feature when you’re writing a page, located on the right hand sidebar of the dashboard in Pages. It allows you to choose a different template for the page, very handy if you choose to have a static page without side-bars.

Yes this is theme dependent. Some themes do not display sidebars on any pages other than the front page. And yes there are page templates on a couple of the themes at wordpress.com but the vast majority of themes do not have them.
