Customising the Cookies Banner Widget + Display Problem

    Would anyone be able to help? I want my blog (https://katejones50.wordpress.com/) to display the cookies banner widget with text that is slightly altered in comparison to the default text, but even though I’m using the custom text option for the banner text on the widget settings, the default text is still displaying. Additionally, I am having the problem of a previous poster whereby the banner isn’t going away when you click ‘Close and accept’. For me, I’ve sometimes found that this button is instead making my blog homepage pop up when I click on it. Thank you in advance :)

    Hi there,

    This is a bug – currently the widget does not work on free sites that display the default banner.

    Please subscribe to the thread at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cookie-banner-wont-go-away/

    Once the bug is fixed we’ll post an update there, and then you’ll be able to add the widget and use its customization options instead.
