Customization allowed with free theme

  Hello,

  I’m new to WordPress. I know basic HTML and .css, but was wondering what level of customization is allowed when using a free theme. Is it possible to avoid the tools (font, color, etc) and just dig into the code? How about editing the code to get to an offsite .css stylesheet hosted elsewhere?

  Any info you could provide would be great. Thanks!

  Someone else will have to clarify what you can and can’t do without an upgrade, but I don’t think you can do what you want to do even with the payed CSS upgrade.
