  Can I change the background and icons of the Avid theme?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You should be able to change the background of the theme here. As for the icons, I don’t know.

  You can customise your theme here and that should list all your available options and show you a live preview of it all.

  As I have not yet purchased the theme I cannot access your links Daniel. Thanks for your advice.
  I’m used to (but not a real veteran) in self hosted WP themes. There I can make changes in css and images in the gui. Inside WordPress I expect not to be able to access the gui images folder to make changes in their appearance. Or can I?

  Sorry I couldn’t be of much help, hopefully someone else can help you out better.

  To alter the css, you’ll need to pay for the $30 a year custom design upgrade. But I do know that you should be able to change the background image of the theme once you buy it, without buying that upgrade, in fact you should be able to for your current theme (unless some restrict that) using the first link I gave (Appearance -> Background, where you should be able to upload a picture/image of your choice). As for GUI editing, I don’t think that’s possible, but I don’t have the CSS editing upgrade, so I don’t know.
