Customization problems with Nishita theme
-
Hi, I recently started using the Nishita theme, but I have some issues with it. First it seems like I can only change the background color, and that if I want to change things like content color, link colors, etc, then that becomes Premium. It doesn’t make sense that I can only change one background color for free, but can’t change the rest to match up with it. Is that a bug or just how this theme is? Second, I had the option to set a custom background image before activating, but once I have it activated, it seems like that option disappears.
I’d really like it if I could change the theme to a lighter color, but it doesn’t work if I can only customize one color.
If anyone can help me, that would be great, thanks~

Also, on the theme’s description page, there are a bunch of customization options, and one of them is to switch between a general light and black color theme. Is that just for custom websites powered by a wordpress CMS or am I missing where to find that on the wordpress.com customizer?

Here’s an example of a blog using the Nishita theme, and I want to make it look like that. Sorry for duplicate posting! I couldn’t find an edit button. ;_;

I noticed that I can’t even change the colors for anything at all, not even back to the default black colors, because the customizer considers that whole feature as Premium. The only time I can edit any color is prior to activating, and I can only change the background color.
Again, sorry for duplicate posting.

You’ll find those options on the old Theme Options page. Since this is an older theme, the options aren’t available in the Customizer, but you can still access that page via the WP Admin area, via Appearance > Theme Options:

That’s correct. Themes that support a custom background give you the ability to do that for free. Other tweaks require the WordPress.com Premium or Business plan. We recently introduced free fonts for all, as well.
