Customization won't save

I’ve tried two themes now, Christopher and Nikau, for a new site that should have been up and running by now. I started with Christopher, had problems, switched to Nikau an hour ago an tried to customize it also with a color scheme, header image, etc. In both cases I’ve save the Draft, but when I leave Customize everything disappears back to the default when I view the site and is only visible when I go back into Customize. I’ve published it privately and that makes no difference. Hoping I’m missing something stupidly obvious.
I’ve had a WP site since 2007 using Chronicle and didn’t have this problem when I set it up.

In both cases I’ve save the Draft
Hi there, I just want to ensure that foxstudio.biz is the site you are working on. That site is using the Chronicle theme.
In order to make the changes you make in the Customizer live on your site you need to Publish them. If the blue button at the top says Save Draft, click on the gear icon next to it on the right and then change the setting to Publish. Then click on the Publish button.
