customize a new theme

  How do I customize a new theme that I want to install but not let it become published or public until I’m done with all the changes?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You may set the Settings > Reading > Site Visibility to prevent the site from being indexed by search engines. No one will see it unless you tell them about it and direct them to the site.

  You may also make the site Private through the same settings. Only you would see it and it would be protected with a password.
