Customize Moka home page
-
The first page I see when I open my Moka theme displays a default photograph of a landscape scene in the header area. I want to replace that picture with one of my own. In the Themes > Customize sidebar I can’t find anything that lets me do this.
If I hover over the picture it says, “Permalink to Welcome to Your WordPress Site’. I have gone in the Admin dashboard and again, I can’t find where I can change this picture.
If I list All Pages, there’s one called About. I can’t find anything called ‘Welcome…’. I assume the first page is I see when I first go into the Theme is the Home page, but it’s not in my All Pages list.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Laura,
It sounds like this landscape image was a part of the default first post of your site. That’s what the “Permalink…” text would be referring to.
You’ve deleted that post, so the image is gone.
You could see a list of all Posts, there were any, here:

Thank you so much, Alex. I did the beginner tutorials, but being completely new to all this, I didn’t realise that what I was looking at in my theme was a post not a page. To me a post is a little yellow sticky thing.

Haha, and you’re certainly not wrong! :)
In general, write lots of posts whenever you have new things to share with your readers. Use pages to display content on your site that’s more permanent. If you’re just starting out with WordPress.com, I recommend you go through our new user’s guide:
