  I want to make background on my new site a bit darker. I do customize / save, but it appears with no changes. Is there some code, or…?
  I want this site because photography appears in good quality

  You would need the Custom Design upgrade in order to save the changes you make in the Customizer. Otherwise it’s just a free preview.
