Customize theme colors
-
Hello, I currently have the theme “twenty seventeen” for my blog on wordpress.com because the previous one I had was “saga” and it gave me responsive problems when inserting google plans.
Now my question is whether with this new theme “twenty seventeen” it is possible to change the background color of the header of my pages without changing the background color of the rest of the page. Another question is whether you can customize the colors of the menu bar and how I can do both.
The blog for which I need help is:

Thank you so much for everything.

Hi there,
is possible to change the background color of the header of my pages without changing the background color of the rest of the page
This type of change is only possible with our custom design features available in the Premium Plan and higher. A possible workaround is to create an image file that’s just a colored box, but it looks like you’ve already tried that, and you’ll see it then expands the header to fill the entire screen, as that’s how the header is designed to work in this theme if there’s something added to it. That behaviour also requires custom CSS to override.
Another question is whether you can customize the colors of the menu bar and how I can do both.
This would also require the custom design features.
On the free plan that you have currently, the featured color palettes in the Customizer are the only options to change colors on the site.

Just noting I’ve split the extra response into a new thread so you won’t be bothered with notifications, but if you’re interested in the nuts and bolts of how to change menu colors in Lodestar with some CSS, that’s here:
