Customized link colors aren't working properly on Chrome or Firefox
-
Hi – I use the DesignfolioPro theme. I altered my (non-menu) link colors by hand-coding in my child CSS file on my iMac. The new colors work well on Safari v.7.0.3.
However, when I view a few pages of my site in Google Chrome v.34.0.1847.131, the custom link colors usually appear — but not always. In some cases, the default link color surfaces. For instance, on Chrome, the “Reincarnation” bullet at http://soulcenteredtherapy.com/wordpress/past-lives-beyond/ didn’t display the blue color I chose until after I clicked on it (my a: link color is the same as my a: visited color).
In Firefox 27.0.1, the problem is worse. NONE of the links display the custom a:link color until after clicking. (The mouseover colors are correct across browsers.) The same is true for an external link, as you can see at http://soulcenteredtherapy.com/wordpress/life-between-lives/, when I reference “The Newton Institute” near the bottom of the page (after my phone number).
(NOTE: I’m using HTML ON EACH PAGE to code my e-mail and phone number hypertext, because I didn’t find effective CSS for this, even for Safari.)
For my regular, non-menu links, I used this CSS:
<style type=”text/css”>
<!–
a:link {color: #0418FD; }
a:active {color: #F703Ef; }
a:visited {color: #0418FD; }
a:hover {color: #F703Ef }
–>
</style>And for external links:
a.ext-link:link { color: #0418FD; } -
You are in the wrong forum and need to be at WordPress.ORG for help with that version of the software.
