Customized theme not displaying properly. Only showing default.

    Hi there,

    I had a web developer make a wordpress site for me, but left the installation to myself as I have made a few of my own wordpress sites in the past. The problem I’m having is that when I upload the files that he provided me to my FTP, I don’t see any of the changes he made on the live website — only the default content of the template i.e. ‘hello world’ etc.

    I did the 1 click install through hostgator, then uploaded the folder to my FTP. I’m able to access the theme he used through wp-admin, so I know the upload worked at least in that regard. But none of the customizations are there. He’s currently hosting it on his own site, and I can see all the correct content there. I just need to get it working on my domain. Is there something I forgot to do to make his edits go into effect?

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
