  how can I add a categories menu so that my posts are according to category – it’ll be more user friendly.
  Also, how do I add a drop-down menu

  Hi –

  You’ll add categories to your posts via the Categories + Tag link in the post editor.

  Then you can add a link of the Categories to your menu. Here’s how: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/custom-menu-widget/
