Customizing a theme

    This is totally new to me. I’ve downloaded a theme but when I try to customize it I get:
    Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; error_handler has a deprecated constructor in /home2/roythomp/public_html/class2.php on line 1923

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /home2/roythomp/public_html/e107_handlers/mysql_class.php:144 Stack trace: #0 /home2/roythomp/public_html/class2.php(326): db->db_Connect(‘localhost’, ‘roythomp_e10717…’, ‘ShLB43qyPQOd’, ‘roythomp_e107_d…’) #1 /home2/roythomp/public_html/index.php(21): require_once(‘/home2/roythomp…’) #2 {main} thrown in /home2/roythomp/public_html/e107_handlers/mysql_class.php on line 144

    What do I do next please?

  • Hi there –

    For help with this you’ll want to post at WordPress.org.

    https://wordpress.org/support/

    There are 2 versions of WordPress. You are using the WordPress software with a hosting company. That’s quite a bit different from what happens here at WordPress.com. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
