Customizing an Inactive design

    Hi – I am wanting to change the look of my website to another design. As I able to keep my current design active while I edit and customize an inactive design? It usually takes me a few days to automize a design and I want my current design to be active until I’m ready to switch.

    Hi there,

    It seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com but a self-hosted site using the open source WordPress software.

    The way to preview a theme’s design and customize it before activating it is different for a self-hosted site. To do this on your self-hosted site, you must first install the theme. Then at Appearance > Themes, hover over the theme that you would like to try out and click on the Live Preview. You can then customize the look of the theme.

    For future self-hosted WordPress questions, you’re recommended to post them at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.
