customizing columnist template to have categories of post

  I thought I saw a demo of the columnist template where the front page display post categories so when you click on it it reveals another page with all the post in that categories. But I don’t seem to be able to find the setting for it. Right now all the posts show up on one page in sequential order.

  So your goal is for the home page to only show a list of your categories? And for those links to load the actual category archive pages?

  I have a similar inquiry… Only I’m looking for a list….

  Would really like to have the category and tag Clouds on the home page (left column). Have been messing with darn thing relentlessly – thought I could simply move a widget or two to that column – but no success. https://scrapaduq.wordpress.com/

  Eeeeks : I mean I’m NOT looking for a category list. Instead, would like to have the cloud widgets in the left column.
