Customizing date in Yoko Theme
-
Website: http://www.mariannewilkinson.com
Good morning,
I am trying to find a way to improve use of space for blog posts. With the yoko theme the date takes up a significant amount of space on the left hand side.
1. Not show a date on blog posts.
or 2. Move the date so its within the blog post area.If I can do this – I can buy the custom theme option. Otherwise I will have to find another theme. I like the clean look of the blog page, with a second smaller column for widgets. If I can’t change the theme to be the way I would prefer it, if anyone has other theme recommendations, please let me know.

If you buy the Custom Design upgrade you can modify the layout – for instance make the title and the content of the post start flush left (below the date). But I don’t think it’s worth buying the upgrade just for that: better select a different theme. There are many “clean” themes with a sidebar. You can see all the themes in action here:

Picking another theme is one good option. Here are some notes about your CSS question as well if you’re interested.
1. Not show a date on blog posts.
To hide the date on single posts in the Yoko theme, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:
.entry-date { display: none; }
