Customizing header link
-
Is it possible to change the link of the header using custom css? Or a way to do it with a text widget and HTML? I want my header to go to another page instead of the home page. Thanks

There are some tricks that can be used to do this, but in general, most people expect a header image, or site title to take them to the main page of the site they are on. Is it just to a different page on your site, and are you talking about this site: http://sonsofyoung.wordpress.com/ ?

It would be for this site:
http://haikucolumbia.wordpress.com
As you can see I’ve added a banner above the menu, “Haiku Columbia…” for a header and I have a banner below the menu, “Test Header…” where the usual header goes for the coraline theme. I would like the upper banner to be linked to the homepage and the lower one linked to an external site. I found some info on how this might work but none of it worked for me. Thanks a ton for getting back to me.
Ugh, I was very tired and frustrated last night. Forgive all the typos!

Create a blank, transparent PNG image the same size as your top logo image, upload it to your media library and put it into a text widget in your sidebar, linked to the URL you want it to go to, and then let us know when you have that done and we can help you position it over the logo at the top.

Okay. So that would be for the very top image, the “Haiku Columbia” image. Would I do the same for the “Test header imager” banner?

You are welcome, and if you want to do the same for the “test header image” location, yes you will need to do the same for that one, in a new text widget.

Edit the text widget and remove the title from it. This would be the code for the top logo image:
#text-4 { position: absolute; top: 0; } -
Cool! Done. Works great. Now how about re-positioning for the “Test Header Image”
I assume it’ll be with some sort of negative pixel value or something?
Again appreciate this a ton!
