Customizing menus

  How do I move my menus under my masthead in almost all of the themes? I haven’t been able to get them from the side to the top for some reason.

  The default top menu automatically displays links to your static pages. I guess you don’t have any static page, so the menu doesn’t show. To display a top menu with items other than pages, you need to create a custom menu and set it as your primary menu. For details see this post of mine:
