  I posted pictures to Gravatar. Will they not appear on wordpress? Are you the same or different sites! The background is quite bland and it needs to be changed. I have my own pictures.

  Hi karlamdiggs,

  Gravatar is a site that works with WordPress and other sites to allow you to have a photo or a profile picture that can follow you from site to site.

  In order to do things like change the background of your blog you need to upload the images to WordPress.

  You may want to read this article http://en.support.wordpress.com/customize/ it talks about how to customize your WordPress site, including changing the background.

  Thank you, sandymcfadden, for getting back to me in such timely fashion, but now I have another question. My picture is not appearing when I post the link to my blog on facebook. Can you tell me why that is?

  For the Facebook picture you could try the information in this article. http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/
  It explains how WordPress tries to suggest to Facebook which image to use.
