Customizing posts page into a page with posts excertpts instead of full post!

Dear Ones,
I would like my blog pages to show posts with excerpts and a link to the full post. Now, it is shown each post with full content. Can you help me in how to do it?

Use the More tag, the button that looks like a dotted line across a page. Put the cursor where you want the break to go, click the button, and you’re done.

Sorry, I do not understand. I am quite “iliterate” in code. I do not know this More tag, nor know where to look something like you described, the one that looks like a dotted line…
What I have done so far is to paste codes in the css sheet.
Could you send the code itself…? Or explain me again?

Additional information to the message above: Yes, I sort of get to know what a More Tag is…better, to what it refers…to the moment where the text is broken and come “More…” then the person clicks there and gets to the real post. Ok. But I do not know how to do it.
