Customizing the Layout

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m thinking about using my current blog at http://www.konetchreport.com and changing it to one that uses wordpress. I want to keep the general design, I just wanted to uses wordpress so that it wouldn’t be a static page anymore. How could I do this? I’m not experienced with wordpress, so please stick with me.

    Thanks

Here at wordpress.COM, we are limited to the themes listed under appearance > themes, but the style of your page looks quite a lot like the Vigilance theme here which also has the ability to change colors for some of the page elements built into it. You can see a sample of the vigilance theme on my test blog at http://allhatnocattle.wordpress.com/ . It also has a custom header image option so it would end up looking very similar to what you have.

There are limitations here at wordpress.COM, the free hosting service. No advertising or monetizing of the blogs here is allowed.

If you already have a web host and are planning on keeping it, you need to head over to wordpress.ORG which is where the wordpress software for self-hosted blogs is available and supported. And again, you will be able to use the Vigilance theme which can be downloaded off of the internet.

See the sticky post at the top of the main forum page here for the differences between wordpress.ORG and wordpress.COM.
