Customizing the "Twenty Fourteen" theme.

Hi! I have selected “twenty fourteen” as my current theme. When trying to customize this theme, I seem to be only able to select a main photo as a header. What I want to do is model my front page like the demo photo “twenty fourteen” on the theme page by adding several photos which go to a different page on my site. Can anyone assist me? Thanks.

Are you trying to setup the panel of six featured images that are shown at the top of the demo site at http://twentyfourteendemo.wordpress.com/ ?

In Twenty Fourteen, those are controlled using tags—”featured” is the default, but you can also choose your own by going to Appearance > Customize > Featured Content.

Make sure your posts are tagged correctly based on your theme settings and that they have featured images assigned:

Thank you for the quick response. I followed the steps but I’m not seeing where to change to the panel with six images. When I go to Appearance>Customize>Featured Content, I see options to change Layout and Tag Name. The Layout gives me “grid” or “slider”, neither of which seems to change anything. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

The panel will appear automatically once you have enough published posts setup with the featured content keyword.

On the layout, I think grid is the one you want—that’s the layout type being used on th Twenty Fourteen demo site. But below that is the tag name you need to know. I checked your settings and your tag name is “Film.” Go to your posts section and make sure you published a few posts that have “Film” tag and then the grid should show up after that.
