Customizing theme

  Hello,

  I want to start my blog with the Syntax theme http://syntaxdemo.wordpress.com/ on wp.com. But I need to know that if later it needed to be self-hosted, could I:

  customize the menu and links?
  add Buddypress?
  add custom post types?
  still have wp.com members do a one-click follow?

  Themes that are licensed for WordPress.com use and adapted to run on our software cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  In this case there is a version of Syntax for WordPress.org software and also one for WordPress.com software.

  This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  – are only wp.com hosted sites able to provide the one-click follow?

  I believe that WordPress.org installs running the Jetpack plugin provide the same capability. http://jetpack.me/
