Customizing Themes

  Hello. I have a question about themes. I’m looking at upgrading to a paid premium theme and have been previewing many. I’d like to know if in the preview screen where you can customize it, if there is not an option for sidebars or widgets or headers etc., does that mean that theme doe not have those options? I’d like to buy one but don’t want to pay the $$ then find out I can’t put the things I currently have into that theme. Thanks!

  Great questions!

  We’re constantly updating our Customize tools, so that more and more of the visual and layout tweaks for a theme can be done from within those tools.

  With that being said, some of the options may exist within the dashboard’s Appearance menu for some themes as well.

  You should certainly look at the Customize menu with the theme preview, but there are a few other places that you can gather info about themes.

  One place would be the theme’s main guide. I’ll use this as an example:
  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/bromley/

  You’ll find lots of detail there, as well as some height/width specific info towards the bottom.

  There’s also a link towards the top right of that page to the theme’s support document:

  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/bromley/support/

  Finally, if the questions you have aren’t answered by those, all Premium Themes have a forum where you can connect with the developers for questions:

  http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com

  It would actually help our theme developers to provide the best information on the theme documents if you have any pre-purchase questions that can’t be answered by reviewing the guides, previewing the theme, and looking at the theme demo.

  Finally, all premium theme purchases can be refunded within 30 days of the initial purchase date, in case you need that.
