Customizing twentyfourteen – widget placement
-
I would like to have a summary of my blogs in the content area below the featured grid. I tried the footer widget on a static home page, but it puts the “blogroll” under the left column not under the main content.
Is there any way to do this with this theme – using widgets or some other method? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you consulted the detailed theme description that describes how the theme is designed to function? http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/

Yes, I did. There is nothing specific about customizing widgets or moving widget areas. I guess it won’t work. I am disappointed.
I get use to this and other features when I was using oxygen. I switched over to twenty fourteen because I liked how it looked without realizing that those features in oxygen are not universal

There is no way to move any widget area on any WordPress.COM hosted blog because you cannot access and edit the underlying PHP and HTML file. This is a multiuser blogging platform and all blogs wearing the same theme share the same underlying template.
For that kind of access you have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own wordpress.org install.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
