Customizing webpage to just show image

Hiya! I just want my current site to show a “Launching soon” image that I created and I’ve tried putting in the usual <body></body> code but it’s not showing. Am I doing something wrong?

Under Settings > Reading, try setting your front page to be a temporary “coming soon” static page instead of displaying latest posts, which is the default display:
