Customizing your message for Tweet
-
I’ve tried to customize what the tweet says when it shares the post on Twitter but the the actual tweet only says the title of the post. How do I fix this?

Hi there,
If this using Publicize, i.e. the feature that automatically posts a tweet when you publish a new post?
Can you give a link to a recent post on your site that didn’t share the custom Publicize message when you published it, and also a link to the resulting tweet?

I tried to make the part that says to Customize your message say “Here’s my review of the movie Clouds #CloudsMovie @disneyplus” but all the tweet ends up saying is the title of the post.

Hi there,
Next time you publish a blog post, can you try going through these steps before sharing?
- Write the post.
- Write the custom message for Twitter.
- Hit the “Save draft” and wait for a confirmation message that the draft has been saved.
- Hit the “Publish” button only after seeing confirmation that the draft is saved
If you do this, is your custom message shared? We have our engineers looking into the issue but in the meantime other site owners have reported success with this workaround and I am hoping it will work for you too.
