Customozing CSS and upgrading from free to 99.00 annual version

Hi, I already have a domain name and a wordpress site that is up and running on dreamhost servers. I wanted to customize (while learning CSS) and I think I will be forced to use WordPress professional the paid version for 99.00 annual. Is that true, not much I can do with the csseditor in the free version?

    Hi there,

There are 2 different versions of WordPress (.com and .org), I think you might have mixed them up.

If your site is hosted with Dreamhost, custom CSS can be added for free in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-add-custom-css-to-your-wordpress-site/

The upgrade you’re referring to is for sites hosted on the servers here at WordPress.com only, not WordPress sites hosted elsewhere with companies like Dreamhost.

If you’d like to learn more about the differences between WordPress.com (the hosted service) and WordPress.org (the software), please see this guide:
