Cutline Theme and Photos

Two days ago my photos in my theme of Cutline had these really nice “frames” of lines around them which I was assuming where part of the theme. Now they are all gone and I haven’t changed anything. Was I imagine them or have I done something wrong with posting imagines within this theme? I really like this theme and thought the frames around photos made it look really nice and like I know what I was doing (which I don’t)

Okay I may have found the answer to this in the fact that Cutline is being upgraded. Still would like to know.

Update: As of September 28th, 2006, Cutline has been revised so that unstyled images no longer receive default styling. This is a move that I hated to make on many fronts, but I also realize that it’s just really inconvenient to have every image styled by default.

If you really want to get a handle on this theme and utilise every which way you can use pictures see cutlines theme designers blog here:

    http://cutline.tubetorial.com/image-handling-with-cutline/

All you have to do is go into your html and between <img and the scr bit you type:

    img class=”center” scr

note the spaces between img and the word class and the space between ” and scr …. it is important otherwise you will lose all the formating for the image!

Anyway check out the web-site and if I can follow the easy instructions anyone can!

Okay so that means that I have to go into the code each time for my images to have a frame and it can’t be done with the other editor functions within the text editor. Honestly, I don’t want to code this stuff just use it. I read the designer’s reasons for removing the automatic styling and while I used his reasons, I loved it. Like I said, it made it look like I know what I was doing.

Perhaps pressrow would be a better option if you want to keep it simple without using code… it is a theme by the same designer, much like cutline.

Try that one and see if that suits you better :)

It’s not that bad. Whenever you add an image, click on it, then click on the image icon in the toolbar and set border to 1, vspace and hspace to 10-15 or something. Becomes habit after a while.

If you set the attributes on the image then you aren’t locked into a particular theme.

    Moved to support.

Please remember that vspace and hspace do not work for some browsers.

I am new to WordPress, having lost patience with the problems with beta.blogger, so please pardon my ignorance.

I edited each photo in a post with a border 3 and V&H values of 15. The border and spacing shows up in the edit screen but are not visible on the blog page. I tried making the changes in both Netscape 7.2 and in FF (the features of which I wish I could combinem by the way).

    Any suggestions?

And an example of this would be? :)

Some styles are stipped due to security concerns. You’re probably running into this. You can modify the CSS with the upgrade and set this using spacing with the CSS if you want.

I thought that hspace just didn’t work, until I looked at the page in IE and saw a slightly different version of my blog! Am I right in thinking that hspace does not work in FireFox?
