Hi, right now the overall container max-width of your site is 1140px and the content 68px less than that due to left/right margins. For full-width content, such as you have, that is really wide when considering design guidelines for easy readability. Although it is more complex than this, in general it is best to keep text-based content in the 500-750px width range. Longer lines of text are harder for people to read. In addition, the featured image size is calculated by the theme using the original width.
That said, you can add the following and change the width. I arbitrarily put in 1600px.
#page { max-width: 1600px; } .home .entry-thumbnail img { width: 100%; } -
thanks so much! this is helpful and i’m going to play around with some different options here. is there a way to still get my bottom blue bar content centered?

I too would like to cut down on the white space above and below the CSS on my homepage.
Can anyone take a look and help me out.
It looked balanced for a long time, about an inch of white above and below the CSS, but something changed recently and now the white is uneven and too large below the CSS.
Thank you!

Correction: white space too large “above” the CSS.
Would like 1″ of white above and below the CSS.

Hi @michaelglancyglassworks, since you are using a different theme, and since CSS is generally theme specific, can I ask you to create a new thread in the CSS Forum? Many thanks in advance.
