d doss attack on my site, can't access admin

Help! Bluehost has told me the reason I can’t get to my site’s admin (but somehow I can be on this page) is that there’s been a d doss attack blocking my site. I am getting the runaround. Does anyone have any assistance to offer?

This support forum can only help with sites hosted at WordPress.com.Self-hosted WordPress sites can get help at https://wordpress.org/support/.
This page has some good suggestions on how to protect your self-hosted site against DDOS attacks: http://www.cloudways.com/blog/ddos-attacks-wordpress-security/. The WordFence plugin mentioned in that article is one I use on lots of self-hosted sites and it seems to work well. The next time you are able to log in, you might want to try installing it.

Thank you so much. In fact that very plug in has already been recommended so it’s nice to hear that you recommend it also. I didn’t realize that my wordpress blog was not hosted by wordpress, but clearly I am learning a lot about the tech side of all things this weekend. I appreciate your info – thanks a ton!
