Daily prompt not posting

  It seems that for the past week my blog has not been posting properly. I can’t tell if it is a system-wide issue or if it is something I have done incorrectly. Any info would be helpful…

  Are you referring to pingbacks not appearing on the Staff blog “The Daily Post”? If so, please see the guide here
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/ and make sure the post have the pingbacks link enabled
  http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/discussionmodule.jpg?w=688&h=80

  If you still have an issue type modlook into the sidebar tags of this thread for Staff help and provide the URL for the relevant post on your blog please.

  Everything seems to be checked properly, yet nothing is posting to Daily Prompt. Not sure if others are seeing what I write [i.e. followers].

  But thank you pointing me in the right direction. Hopefully this can be resolved.

  That URL your provided is not one to a published post.

  Hi @509majesty,

  I don’t believe this is a system-wide issue. I just recently posted to a test blog and was able to get the post to appear on the Daily Post. However, I’m not quite sure why your blog isn’t appearing. The settings seem to be correct. By chance, do you know the last post of yours that successfully appeared as a pingback?

  I think it was the one titles “My Host Family in Holland”. So let’s say for the past 8 days nothing has posted properly.

  Thanks! It looks like the My Host Family in Holland post did correctly pingback to the Daily Post prompt. I’m still digging, but I’m a bit stumped at first. These are brand new posts correct? They’re not posts you’ve changed the date on? Also, are you creating the posts any differently (using the mobile app, for example)?

  These are posts I create from my laptop, same as the others. Nothing being brought over from another site or previous posting. Almost always just hit “Reply in new post” dialog box for each days topic.

  Somewhat silly, but I post about the same time each day as well. Creature of habit!!

  @509majesty – From everything I’ve checked, it doesn’t look like you’re doing anything wrong. I’m still investigating! I’ll get back to you as soon as I have more information.

  Just a follow-up here, I’ve passed this along to our developers so they can take a look. It may be a few days before we have any additional information. I just wanted to let you know ahead of time. We’re going to get to the bottom of this though!

  I see that today the makeup of my drafts has shifted. The dropdowns and various menu items having moved from right to left. Are we rebuilding something?

  The WordPress.com editor at wordpress.com/post was adjusted a bit to better fit with the layout across WordPress.com. The major shift was that the site picker and sidebar were indeed moved from right to left.
