Daily Writing Prompt

  I would like to submit an answer to the Daily Writing Prompt, but I do not want my answer to appear on my own blog. Can that be accomplished?

  The short answer is no; the WordPress.com Daily Prompt is designed specifically to generate content on your own blog so that it links back to the global conversation in the Reader. Because the prompt works by “pinging” your post, the only way to officially participate is to publish a post on your site. However, if your goal is to share your answer with the community without cluttering your main homepage, you can set the post’s Visibility to “Unlisted” (if available on your plan) or simply change the Post Format to something less prominent. Alternatively, you can always write your response directly in the Comments section of the Daily Prompt post itself in the WordPress Reader; this allows other writers to see your answer without a new post ever appearing on your personal blog.

  This is true from @james3265166! There is no way to respond to the Daily Writing Prompt without publishing a post.
  
  If you do want to respond but not publish a post, I’d recommend that you join the discussion and provide your thoughts via the comments sections.
