DailyMotion Embed tags
-
I just decided to embed a DailyMotion video on my website, and I ran into a bit of a snag.
I’ve embedded videos in the past, occasionally. And every time I did, I’ve done two things: I manually set the height and width to what would be ideal for my site layout; and I disabled the appearance of the recommended videos that pop up at the end, mainly because I find it tacky and irritating.
Now, with YouTube clips, this was easy. Just add the necessary parameters to the URL, like so:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRPy1kiAXDA?rel=0&autohide=0&w=544&h=336]But with DailyMotion, doing that very thing seems to break the video. Because adding
?related=0to the end of the id code, seems to make the entire video just disappear. But according to my sources, that’s exactly what I need to do. I’m not too worried about width and height, since that doesn’t appear to be a problem with DailyMotion, but the ‘reccomended videos’ is.Anyway, I assume the issue is that parameters aren’t supported in the DailyMotion shortcode, like they are with YouTube. If so, I’d like that to be rectified.
Unless there’s another way to accomplish this.
