DailyMotion embedded video will not encode

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve tried to encode the following video in my latest blog post. I first followed the [dailymotion id=x9n9fz] instruction, but then it would only embed a Daily Motion screen that said “Encoding in progress” – but it never loaded.

I then went into the HTML View and used the provided “embed” code, but when I hit update the blog reverted it to a simple link – erasing any embed option. I also did this from the Hulu site, thinking that it might be an issue with DailyMotion, but that didn’t work either.

My husband, who has a wordpress.org site, was able to easily embed this video.

Please help me get this sorted out. Thanks!

  • That particular video does not appear to be playing for me on DailyMotion’s site. Perhaps there’s a problem with the video itself?

I’m not having any trouble embedding other videos from DailyMotion.

It’s definitely a quirky clip, but I don’t think that’s it. I am able to view it on the site and my husband was able to use the provided embed code on his site and it worked.

  • We can’t allow the code that DailyMotion provides on their site for security reasons, and the method that we use still uses DailyMotion’s player with the video file.

Perhaps they use some sort of special for the Hulu files?

I’ve tried ten other videos so far, all were successful, so the problem appears to be specific to just this video.

Well, that’s frustrating. Can you allow the code hulu provides? I’ve copied it below…

    <object width=”512″ height=”288″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.hulu.com/embed/8tvZX1PeFTvoLCfOC6G-Mg”></param><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”></param><embed src=”http://www.hulu.com/embed/8tvZX1PeFTvoLCfOC6G-Mg” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”512″ height=”288″ allowFullScreen=”true”></embed></object>

  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow that code for the same security reasons.

Thanks for checking on it. I’ll contact them and see if I can make any headway.
