Dailymotion Video got “redirected”
-
Thanks for reading my thread. I have encountered problems when embedding videoes onto my blog. For every videoes that I embed, there shows “redirecting…” whenever I clicked the Play button.
For instance, in this post,
http://testblog4j.wordpress.com/2010/04/10/video-testing/I was trying to post this video,
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcvwuw_ml-15s_shortfilmsand I’m sure the code is correct,
[dailymotion id=xcvwuw]The video is made public and it plays well on dailymotion.com…but it just doesn’t play on my post. Instead, only the word “Redirecting…” shows up and it never really redirects me to any pages.
Is this the problem of my browser? I’m using Firefox 3.6.3. Can anyone help? Thanks a lot!!

I just inserted that video into my test blog just fine and it played. Did you insert the code while in the HTML tab? Sometimes it helps to do that rather than trying it in the visual tab in the editor. Here is the code I used, which looks exactly like the code you used.

Here is the link to the blog post where I inserted it.

Thanks for answering my question. However, when I went to your post, the video still didnt load. Just displaying “redirecting…” I’m wondering if there’s any reginal restriction on playing the video? no ideas…
and yes, I type the code in HTML mode =]
Thanks again!

I just tried accessing the video on my test blog again, both when I’m logged in and logged out, and except for it loading very slowly (mainly the fault of my connection I’m sure) it was fine.
I think Hanni may be onto something though.

@TSP
OS windows XP
Browser Firefox 3.6.3
This is a confirmation comment. I can play the video on your test blog both when I am signed in and when I am signed out. -
Yeah, as Hanni suggests, it might be an issue with where the OP is physically located.
The other suggestion would be to log out of wordpress, clear their browser cache and then try again. It might be a caching issue with their browser.

@hanni: I’m in Hong Kong =] maybe it is really the problem of where the OP is physically located… hmm…
so I’m wondering if there’s anyone else encounter problem like this??
@timethief: Thanks for checking the video =]
@thesacredpath: hmm… I tried your suggestion… not working still…
