Dangerous Publish Button
-
It’s probably my own fault, but I’m tired of hitting the “Publish” button while I’m making edits to a post and I think I’m hitting the “Save Draft” button. It’s just right there, blue, attractive and non-forgiving!
There is no confirmation such as “Are you sure you want to publish?”. Nope, it goes straight live and sends an email to all of our followers. They receive a half-finished post, an email with working title, typos, missing pictures… etc. It’s very unprofessional and it’s my fault for publishing by mistake.
Is there any way to add a step to the publish process? Another gate? Or hide the button somewhere else at least? Thanks for any help
Guillaume

Use an offline blog editor like Blogdesk if you find that avoiding the Publish button is too hard.
-
Use the old “classic” editor that has the “Save Draft” button on the right side bar above the “Publish” button.
-
other offline editors here:

Those are all good ideas, thank you all! The other one I was thinking about was to just have it scheduled for a future date.
The advantage is two folds:
1. It can’t publish early
2. It gives us a due date for finishing the post :P
