Dara theme and drop down menu

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

I’m having trouble with the Dara theme and the main menu at the top of the page. When I press the down arrow next to a parent menu item, to try to get the child menu to show, it takes you mostly to the parent page instead.

Great theme, really love it but will have to reluctantly change themes if this isn’t resolved. This part of the menu is very frustrating and fiddly to use.

    Thanks for your help!
    Ruth

    Hi @ruthbaileyyoga,

I’m not sure that I can help you, but actually you don’t need to press/click the arrow to get the child menu show. You just need to hover the parent menu instead.

    Hi @nizamilputra
    Thanks for the message :)
I’m trying to get it to work on an iPad. So I don’t have a mouse to hover over the parent menu. It works fine on my iPhone.
I had a chat to the WordPress support team and there seems to be a problem with this theme on iPads when trying to function the drop down menu.
    Cheers again for your help.

Ah I see. I hope it will be solved soon once they updated the theme.

I have found the same problem.
Child menus in the Dara theme do not drop down when using an iPad.

Clicking is the only viable means on an iPad to trigger a menu expansion to show its children: it works fine on iPhones as @ruthbaileyyoga notes.

I can confirm this problem occurs on Chrome and Safari on latest iOS 10 on the iPad Air.

  • Hi everyone!

    Thanks for pointing this out!

I’ve just opened a bug report so we can get to work on sorting it out :) We’ll post here when we have more info!

    Hi all!

Thanks for the heads-up about this bug. We’ve made a fix to Dara and submenus should now be accessible from touch devices.

    Cheers,
    Caroline
