Dara Theme Homepage

Hi, I think I know the answer to this but thoughts I’d ask anyway, just to make sure I’m not missing anything obvious.

    Dara offers four widget areas:

  • The optional Sidebar, which appears on the right in blog view and on pages using the default template.
  • Three optional Footer widget areas.
  • Am I right in thinking that the Sidebar is NOT available on whichever page is set as the Front Page? (In this instance, a static front page is being used although it may not matter.)

My reason for thinking it isn’t is that if I add a widget to the sidebar, a page that was displaying that widget will stop displaying it when it is subsequently set to be the front page. The page that was previously the designated front page will start displaying the widget.

Just wondering if I’m missing something obvious or maybe there’s a simple trick?

    Thank you.

PS: the default template is being used at all times. :)

The sidebar widget area is not available when you set a theme using Dara to display a static front page.

If you set a site with Dara to display posts on the front page (instead of a static page) then the Sidebar widget area is available.

Let me know if this is clear!
