Dara theme not showing widgets on front page

    Hello,
I am using the Dara theme, and would like my side bar widgets to appear on the static home page. Is that possible? Thanks a lot.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Here is the documentation related to your theme: https://wordpress.com/theme/dara

On your home page, you need to see what type of page template you’re using. Go to edit the page, then choose ‘settings’. From there go to the ‘page attributes’ then ‘page template’. Choose the default template. I suspect you have the full-width with no sidebar active.

Thank you, I just tried that and it doesn’t seem to have worked. It’s such a shame because i LOVE this theme.

    Hi sizwile,
If you look into the Dara theme page provided by staff-eleanor, in the lower section you would find the Widgets area, here is a quote from there,
The optional Sidebar, which appears on the right in blog view and on pages using the default template.
The Sidebar is optional to the template pages and the blog view, not the static home page. But as you are aware you can have the Widgets in the Footer area.
If you switch from “Static Front Page” to “Your Latest Posts” the Sidebar option is then available.
But surely, we can pass a message to the Theme team on considering that.
Hope this helps, let us know for any other information.
    Thanks!

    Thank you @pavanraheja
I hope the theme team will consider this. For now I will search for another theme. Regards, S
