For maybe the past 2-3 days (maybe more), I have noticed on my stat dashboard under “referrers” that there one of the ‘referrers’ is “dashboard.” Initially, because I had contacted support because I thought my stats were being inflated somehow, I just assumed that it was support staff accessing my dashboard to help me out so no big deal.

But it’s been a few days and today the “dashboard” referrer is still ongoing and it’s up to more hits. Am I being hacked or can people find my blog from their dashboard? If so, how do they? I have never seen my blog listed at the bottom the dashboard where up and coming blogs or even in the newest posts on the dashboard. In fact, the dashboard stats was there today long before I posted my latest post.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems to be going around. I see it on a lot of my blogs suddenly.

It’s NOT bad news; it’s good. It means that you’re showing in one of the lists: Top Posts, Top Blogs, or Fastest Growing Blogs, OR that people have clicked to your page from the Most Recently Updated, way down on the bottom of the page.

Thanks. Learn something new every day. I do click on people’s blogs from my dashboard at the bottom. When I’m on my dashboard, I eyeball the blogs and click on blogs that interest me. I guess when I do that, it shows up in their stats as “dashboard” in the referrer section.

Thanks for the reply — I was worried and was going to contact support but thought I would try here first. Glad I did.

You might also want to keep an eye on http://botd.wordpress.com which lists the top 100 of each: blogs, posts, fastest growing.

Thanks Raincoaster — I found some blogs that I want to read. I did not know about that site of growing blogs.
