dashboard address

    how do I change my dashboard address. When i was signing up for the sight, it came up with a dashboard address and I do not like it, and do not want to use it. I want to change it, but cannot find out how. Also, it is spelled wrong because the computer auto populated it.

    Are you referring to your custom domain, rebeccaared.com, or the address of your WordPress.com site, rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com?

    If you’d like me to change your Domain Mapping Upgrade to rebeccared.com, I can handle that for you.

    I am referring to this: rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com

    When I was signing up I went ahead and bought the domain, and then paid the mapping fee. I thought the rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com would be irrelevant, but, the site says when I reply to other blogs that is what people would see. Why wouldn’t they see the custom domain (rebeccaared.com)? Also, as I said, the rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com is spelled wrong, so I really don’t want people to see that.

    I am very new to blogging so I am trying to understand how all of this works. I am afraid to start my blog until this gets straightened out. Thank you.

    Custom domains need to be associated with WordPress.com sites, and in your case, that site is rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com.

    This address is not relevant in the sense that visitors to rebeccareddotcom.wordpress.com will only see your Primary Domain, rebeccaared.com, in their browser’s address bar.

    However, if you’d like to change this value, you can:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

    Please note that the final step in changing your site address allows you to keep or discard the old address. If you are changing your site address so that you can use the address for a new site, please be sure to keep the old address.
