Dashboard and/or blog would be down intermittently every day

I am not sure if this is only happening to me, but I tend to blog around 8am to 2pm then either/both of my Dashboard and actual blog would be down at random times. Mostly, they would be down from 2 minutes to 5 minutes or sometimes longer. This also happens past 1 am (since I don’t blog between 3pm to 1am as I’m at work).

With the NaBloPoMo09 project this July, I’ve been trying to post every single day. However, it’s been getting aggravating to deal with the sudden loss of connection to my Dashboard and/or blog (I missed a couple of days because of my frustrations). This has been more prominent throughout the last two weeks of June to now. Basically, blogging is not becoming fun anymore and it’s turning into a chore. In fact, I kept copying and pasting my post in Notepad since saving the draft would sometimes suddenly just give me a “Page Load Error.”

I’ve been meaning to post about this, but I kept checking the forums first but no one seems to be complaining about this. Maybe I’m the only one? It’s weird because my connection is always good as I would check other websites to see if it’s my network connection that’s the culprit; however, I have verified that it is not as I could access Google, etc.

    I would appreciate any help.

Since no one else is reporting this issue here in the forums, it is likely an isolated event. When this happens, do you also lose access to other web sites, or only to your wordpress blogs?

Just my WordPress blog. Every other sites are okay. I would even try different browsers, such as IE, Opera, and Chrome (Firefox is my browser of choice), and the problem would also happen to them. Could I be in a bad server or something? It’s just weird that this is only happening to me. I even used my other computers in the house (tried Safari in my OSX) and they’re experiencing the same issue. I then even connected to an unsecured wireless network in my neighborhood and got the same problem (lol, doing it for testing purposes).

It’s just I’ve been with WordPress for almost two years and I’ve never had this problem at all. It feels like I’m using dial-up and I just keep losing connection. :( I understand downtime and all, but my experience with it is borderline ridiculous. Still, I love WordPress and its features so I’m gonna weather it out. I just hope it gets fixed.

Contact staff directly at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ and explain what is happening and that you still have access to the internet and such and let them look into it.

I’m emailing them now. By the way, my blog’s down right now at this moment. :(

Hmmm, could have been a server reboot. It is up now.

That’s my very problem, sir. It feels like they’re doing a server reboot every 30 minutes or so. That’s what’s aggravating. In less than a few minutes from now, my Dashboard and/or (it’s either/or or both) blog will be down again. Anyway, I guess I’ll just wait for Support but thank you very much for assisting me on this. Sometimes, you just want to talk to someone. :) Also, it’s pretty safe to say that I *am* the only one who has this problem. Story of my life. ^_^

The blog linked to my username is self-hosted rather than here on wordpress.com. Typically because wordpress has so many servers at so many data centers, there is never a problem when a single server needs to be rebooted. And wordpress has so much redundancy that even if they have to reboot a server, the other servers take up the load. ALL of our blogs reside on MULTIPLE servers at multiple data centers.

I wasn’t actually faulting WordPress’ servers, as I only used the “doing a server reboot every 30 minutes” comment as a description of my problem. Basically, I barely experienced any downtime before this problem started. And, now, it’s a chronic issue. Also, my daily views have plummeted by 2,000 and I’m pretty sure that it’s due to my site being down many times in a given single day.

i also experience this down problem. When it happens, not only my blog but most other wordpress.com i can’t access.

Contact staff as I said before.
