Dashboard changes Black to Blue :-/
-
Hi,
Productivity is everything when you spend many hours behind the consoles to develop sites. Is anyone else struggling with the messy management and erratic live swapping of Black/wp-admin backend dashboard to the Blue-White one?
Wordpress.com is experimenting and changing things without notice on some of my sites and I am bitterly disappointed with the impact on productivity.
The wonderful support team is doing its best to soften the blow, but to no definitive avail.
Let me know if you have similar issues, and prefer the Black UI not be replaced or messed with.
Best.

Wherever you are on WordPress.com now many links default to the Block editor I’m afraid. You just have to keep a watch that you stay in the /wp-admin (black) menu. Make sure you don’t click on “Posts” “Add New” on the left. Click on the other grey “Add New” further right and choose the Classic Editor dropdown. Don’t just click on a post title to open and edit it. Reach an existing post via the /wp-admin list and again click on the classic editor option to open it.

Thanks for your reply themagicrobot. I can also understand why they would want to harmonize the two UI’s which makes sense, but engineers would have to capture the productivity features and better IU comfort of /wp-admin Black (just one example: the “collapse menu” which helps gain 10% screen real estate).
This would have to be done with user input and run live with a test group before rolling out.. :-)
