dashboard does not appear at top of page when I am logged in.

If I go to my blog, I do not have the little bar at the top of the page that allows me access to editing features. I had to go to wordpress.com and access the editing for my page from there. I also show an error at the bottom of my browser “done, but with errors on page”.
thanks!

I’m running almost the exact same setup (IE6, Win98, cable connection), but I don’t have this problem. I do get, from time to time, errors in the page loading when I’m editing or writing and don’t get the rich text editor. I just refresh the page and that generally takes care of it. Sometimes it then gives me a Page not Found, but then I hit Refresh again and it takes me to the Manage page. I wonder if these things are related?

yes, but that has not changed recently. 2 weeks ago when I last posted, everythng was working fine.

It would have updated in the meantime, wouldn’t it? And we’ve gotten a ton of these kinds of errors over the past week or so.

The virus defs update, but that seems unlikely to affect how IE loads. When symantec is unloaded, the problem still occurs.

We’ve identified an issue recently where it interferes with the Upload box appearing when you’re on the Write page. If it can do that, it might also be interfering with whether or not you store the cookies properly that allow you to see the blue bar and stay signed in, all errors that seem common to those running McAfee lately.
When all else fails you can always get to your dashboard by going to your blog and adding “/wp-admin” to the end of the URL.
