Dashboard Drafts Widget

FWIW, I don’t really care for the recent Dashboard changes.

I use Drafts a lot, so I liked having links to edit my most recent Drafts in the Activity Widget. Those were recently replaced with links to edit the most recent posts.

Having links to edit my recent posts has no utility for me. Being able to view them would have value, but edit does not. When I edit a post, I’m almost always in that post — reading it, seeing something I want to change, and then using one of the edit links on the post itself. The way I use WP, it never happens that I’m in the Dashboard and decide to blindly edit a recent post.

The Quick Draft widget is also not useful to me, since I don’t use that (much simpler) editor to write posts. The way I write requires that I always use the primary editor with all its features. Therefore the upper part of that Widget has no value to me, but the links shown in the lower part… those are exactly what I’d like to see on top of the Activity Widget!

I realize you may have done usability studies and that the changes may be demanded by most users. (I’m often the oddball in the lot!) But my 1/50th of a buck: I’d like the Draft Edit links back in Activity, please. :)
