Dashboard improvements requested

1. I DON’T want prime dashboard screen real estate taken up with info about the theme I have chosen.
2. I DO want prime dashboard screen real estate devoted to a link to comments awaiting moderation.
-
When a comment is awaiting moderation, there will be a little red bubble on the comment menu option with the number of comments awaiting moderation in the center of it to alert you. Click on the Comment menu selection and it takes you to the comments window where you can moderate, approve, mark as spam, edit or delete.

1. I want the old menu toolbar at the top of each page ( with my account, my dashboards, new post as drop-down menues) back.
This helps very much to navigate between my two blogs.2. I want the Global dashboard changed. It has options like any normal dashboard. But they simply don’t work. Like when I click on the visit site button it just redirects towards my global dashboard. And in the “Right Now” box unneccessary informations are shown (categories and tags of my dasboard?!)
Everything else is just fine and I appreciate to have such a supportive WordPress team

i agree, the information about the theme i’m using and how many widgets i’m using is totally unwanted on my dashboard page. I want to see immediately that x number of comments need moderating.

I agree with you rain. I like the new dashboard. I changed the colors back to the classic ones, but other than that I’m not having any trouble with it. And in my sleep deprived state, not having trouble is a miracle.

I’ve been playing with it for about a week on my self-hosted blogs, and the only place where things went totally out of control was in the widgets area. No more drag and drop widgets from one sidebar to another. It takes a huge amount of steps to move widgets around from one bar to another: http://opposablethumbz.wordpress.com/2008/04/03/wordpress-25-widgets-not-an-upgrade/

I wish they would put the “edit” button back on the Comments section. Now it only things like approve or unapprove. I sometimes post messages to people inside their comments using bold/italics and this new layout makes that harder!

I’m almost afraid to say I prefer the new one. I might get run out of town.
I like it too. I haven’t upgraded my self-hosted blog yet, primarily because of some server issues with my host, but I can’t wait to do so. And I think it’s about as intuitive as a major upgrade can be.
Bravo, WP.

i totally dislike the new dashboard. Looks like the job was left incomplete and the end result’s quite untidy. I want my old dashboard back!
